FRIZONIA returns from NAVALIA 2024 with its objectives achieved

As in previous editions, Frizonia participated in Navalia 2024, held in Vigo from 21 to 23 May, with a large number of visitors to its stand. This made it possible to generate a large number of B2B meetings in search of synergies and collaborations, not only with strategic partners but also with new agents in the sector.

Among those who visited Frizonia’s stand at Navalia 2024 was the Admiral of AJAL, Ricardo Atanasio Hernández, who was accompanied by the Deputy Director of Maintenance of the Navy, Rear Admiral, Engineer Ricardo Álvarez Palacios, and the Deputy Director of Engineering, Captain Francisco Antón Brage, on behalf of the Spanish Navy. The delegate of the State of the Free Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, was also present. In addition to the directors of the various shipyards, suppliers and regular customers.

This edition of Navalia 2024 included a full programme of technical conferences held in two classrooms and a large auditorium. In addition, on the final day, it was confirmed that the next edition of the Navalia Meeting will be held in Cadiz.

This edition was opened by the President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, accompanied by the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero. They both toured the exhibition area, stopping off at some of the stands, including FRIZONIA’s, where they discussed future investment by companies in the Galician naval sector.

The future of the naval sector analysed at Navalia 2024

The members of the FRIZONIA team were able to attend several technical conferences held during Navalia 2024, where the different solutions proposed by the various companies and navies to the challenges facing the sector were examined.

  • Concept of the digital twin in the field of naval structures by Félix Terroba Ramírez, Senior Scientist at the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and Ángel Cruz Alonso, Predoctoral Researcher at the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering INTA.
  • Challenges and opportunities of the energy transition in the naval industry. Organised by the Vigo Port Authority.
